IT'S BEEN SAID...

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the one who'll decide where to go.

~Dr. Seuss

STUDENTS OF THE COMMONWEALTH
Students studying at the library

Students of the commonwealth can count on having a thriving, dynamic and inspiring educational environment in their schools. Schools work in partnership with students, families and the community to ensure that each student acquires the knowledge, skills and core values necessary to achieve personal success.

Well over one million students are enrolled in Virginia’s 1,800 public elementary, middle, and high schools, and centers of learning. Public high schools in Virginia graduate about 84,000 students annually. More than 80 percent of these graduates will continue to a two- or four-year degree program or have other continuing education plans.
